CARRIE CLARK & THE LONESOME LOVERS (USA)
Al meer dan tien jaar slaagt Carrie Clark erin om de mensen die naar haar komen kijken te verbazen met een combinatie van superbe zanglijnen en speelse ritmes. Haar songs gaan stuk voor stuk over one night stands, femme fatales en cowboys. Allemaal miniverhaaltjes die begeleidt worden door een mix van klassieke country, folk en jazz. Het minste wat je kan zeggen van haar songs is dat deze dame uit Seattle een heel eigen geluid laat horen. ‘Between The Bed Sheets And Turpentine’ is haar vierde plaat en opnieuw wordt ze geruggesteund door The Lonesome Lovers, haar begeleidingsband.

CAROLINE WONDERLAND BAND (USA)
Enige concert in Belgie dit jaar !
Wonderland's instrumental abilities include guitar, slide guitar, mandolin,
trumpet and piano. Although primarily a blues artist, Wonderland likes to
incorporate elements of country, swing, zydeco, surf, gospel, soul, and cumbia
into her musical mix. She usually performs with Cole El-Saleh on keyboards and
Robert Michael Hooper on drums.
In February 2008, Wonderland released the CD "Miss Understood" on the Bismeaux
Productions label, and the title song has been on the Top 50 of the 'Roots Music
Report' chart since the album's release.[ Fans of Wonderland's music include Bob
Dylan, and Ray Benson, founder of Asleep at the Wheel. Benson produced Miss
Understood, and has been one
of her songwriting collaborators.
Wonderland has been involved in a number of recordings. She was the lead singer
fronting the band Imperial Monkeys. Wonderland released Bloodless Revolution in
2008, and is the primary singer on the Jerry Lightfoot's Band of Wonder
Texistentialism CD with Lightfoot and Vince Welnick (Grateful Dead). Wonderland
was a founding member of the Loose Affiliation of Saints and Sinners (with Papa
Mali, Eldridge Goins, Guy Forsyth, and others), with several of her songs being
featured on their Sessions from the Hotel San Jose Rm. 50 CD. She was also the
lead guitarist in the all-girl, southern rock band Sis DeVille (including
Shelley King, Sarah Brown, Lisa Pankratz and Floramay Holliday), and a founding
member of the Austin Volunteer Orchestra.

HILLBURN BAND (B)
Canned Heat, R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Kenny Brown, ... Juke joint music ... those are the musical influences that define the universe of RR Hillburn (vocals & guitar) who decided a few months back to start the Hillburn Band project, along with Dan Blackwolf (upright bass) and Omar (drums). A few weeks later, during a jam, the excellent guitarist Julie (Juju Vagabond) played along with the band and ... has never left it since! From then on things went very quickly, and the band's first few concerts were much appreciated and very well recieved by the audience, especially in the northern part of the country. It is for them a wonderful opportunity to play at the Crossroads Café and share their music with a true audience of blues lovers! Don't forget to boogie!
